Fine Motor Fun

If I have to choose only one activity(which is absolutely hard to do) which we enjoy a lot and a great way to improve fine motor skills of our kids, then without doubt I am going to pick pom pom sorting/colour matching with tweezers.

Few years ago I got Learning Resources Gator grabber tweezer from USA and since then I am trying to incorporate them in our day to day activities to-

  1. build hand strength,
  2. work on those tiny finger muscles,
  3. improve hand eye coordination.

Initially, it was super challenging for Veda to even understand what to do with that tweezer. It took lots of patience, willpower, hand strength & focus to use them. It was frustrating for her to even hold them initially so Pom-poms came to the rescue. Yes, this girl love pom-poms.

So here is my favourite fine motor pom pom matching activity with a twist, which is “turn taking” to

1. Avoid frustration
2. Provide her enough waiting time
3. Improve Communication
4.Improve Listening Skills

We enjoyed this activity a lot and the best part was Veda waiting for her turn patiently.

For this activity I have used Stacking Cups, Tweezers & Pom-Pom. You can find the link for these in my Amazon storefront.
