Her love for letters and their sounds is growing day by day. A few days ago, she amazed me by writing some of her favourite words with the help of their sounds.
I was speaking the words out loud, focusing on the sounds, and V tried to write the words.

In case you don’t know, we haven’t started writing letters with a pencil yet. We are still in the phase of finger tracing letters while playing. This practice has helped V in noticing letter formation everywhere.
These days, she has started finger-tracing letters everywhere, whether it’s restaurant menus, logos, signboards, or labels. This clearly means she is enjoying her letters.

Here are the things we learned before writing words through play.
- Letter sounds,
- Letter recognition,
- Blending,
- Finger tracing,
- Sensory play,
- Lots of fine motor practice.
