If you have been following us on Instagram or checking my posts, then you can tell how much we love our Geography lessons. When I say “Geography,” I mean geography for a six-year-old, where we are learning about the continents, countries, and states of India with the help of puzzles, books, and flashcards.
We focus a lot on hands-on, interactive learning where she can understand and learn the concepts in a fun way while working on her coordination and visual skills while putting those pieces together.
A few months ago, I bought some foam puzzles of a world map from Amazon. They had pieces shaped like countries. I had been wanting to get them for a while, but I was waiting for V to be able to do puzzles comfortably. Finally, this year, when I saw her doing puzzles with ease, I got the continent and world puzzles for her. And you know what? They were a big hit!

I enjoyed this puzzle too; it’s a great way to learn about different countries and where they are located. Finding the location of certain countries, especially in Africa, was a challenge for me as an adult. It took me some time to complete the puzzle because I wasn’t taught geography in the same way when I was younger.
This is one of the reasons I love Homeschooling. I get to learn and explore so many wonderful things with Veda.

I can’t stress enough how these activities allow us parents to interact with our children, help them learn new words, and encourage them to practice their speech. Not only that, these activities also enhance visual skills, improve attention span, boost memory skills, and strengthen fine motor skills.
The puzzles are linked on my Amazon Storefront.
